Giant Ass Tulane King Cake

SUPER SIZED KING CAKE RETURNS TO TULANE CAMPUS

For the second year, Tulane ha
s set up a giant King Cake on the LBC lawn: a 400 foot long King Cake to be exact. Fifteen teams signed up to decorate the monolithic baked good this afternoon, braving cold weather, wind, and sugar coma to prettify the cake up for Mardi Gras. I'm not entirely sure why Tulane did this again - I believe last years was a failed world-record attempt - but I suppose I can't fault them for trying. And sending the collective student body into a state of sugar induced happy-coma can't really be considered a bad thing either. Christ, there has been so much king cake in my life of late. (The real irony? I don't eat the stuff. I got no sweet tooth. But man, do I WRITE about it a lot...)

As of 3:00 PM today, the King Cake has vanished and a bunch of people from Student Activities are out there grilling cheeseburgers for no particular reason instead. Okay. Guess Tulane does like to keep its students fat and happy.

Colored sugar? Check.

Willing participants in the orgiastic King Cake ritual.

Dat's a sparkly King Cake.

Decorating King Cakes is AWESOME.
